About Us

Look, the internet is full of people trying to sell you a “best” list. It’s usually an affiliate link in disguise.

We got tired of it.

HeroCookware started because I, Mark (hi), bought a “highly rated” skillet online. It warped. First use. A total dud. And I realized—where do you go for info that isn’t trying to sell you something? Where’s the pure, unvarnished information?

Turns out, it’s hard to find.

So this is that place. It’s me, a couple of other cooking-obsessed friends (Sarah, who’s a materials science nut, and Leo, a former line cook), and a growing pile of data. We’re not a corporation. We buy most of the cookware ourselves (though sometimes brands send stuff—we’re 100% clear about that). We test. We abuse it. We measure with actual tools, not just vibes.

Our bias? Quality. Smart design. Things that last.

We don’t do sponsored posts. We don’t have a shop. This site runs on coffee and a genuine, maybe weird, passion for the craft of a good pot. We’re here to answer the questions we had. Why is that French brand so iconic? What are professional kitchens actually using now? Is that new viral brand on social media any good, or just good at marketing?

Think of us as your most opinionated, slightly nerdy friend who reads too many metallurgy reports for fun.

We’re just here to help you choose better. That’s the whole thing.
